The Chelmsford Driving Lessons / Chelmer Driving School Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions (T&C's).

Your Instructor.  

As your instructor I have both Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance through my membership of the Driving Insructors Association (DIA).  The school car will always be fully insured for your driving lessons.  I also adhere to the DIA's code of conduct .  I am a fully qualified DSA ADI and have and enhanced CRB certificate to work with young adults.  I will provide well planned and structured tuition tailored to your needs to produce the fastest results. 

The Pupil. 

As my pupil I need you to commit to full effort.  I will provide lesson handouts that if read inbetween lessons will make lessons interactive and fun.  In this enviroment my objective of fast results should be easier to achieve saving you money.

Driving Licence And Fitness To Drive. 

You must be in pocession of a valid driving licence either full or provisional to commence tuition on your first lesson.  Your licence must be produced (both parts paper and photocard) to allow me to record your details.  If your entitlement changes due to medical reasons or driving endorsment you should notify me before any more lessons commence.  Your eyesight will be checked as you need to be able to read a number plate from 20.5 metres with or without glasses or contact lenses.  I also reserve the right to cancel lessons if I suspect the use of alcohol or drugs.

Driving Lessons.

Timing, duration and location of driving lessons will be agreed between myself (your instructor) and you (the pupil).

Driving Lesson Cancellation. 

If you need to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson a minimum period of 48 hours is needed to avoid being charged for the lesson.  I will only charge if I cannot fill your lesson appointment slot.

Test Readiness. 

I will keep an eye on your progress and advise you when you are likely to be test ready.  I will make this decision with an eye on test waiting times and how many driving lessons will be taken up to that date.  Please remember and understand that I am unable to let a pupil go to test until ready.  I reserve the right to withhold the car if your not ready.

Block Payment Refunds. 

If you purchase with block payments and require a refund.  The refund will be less any hours taken at standard hour prices. 

Payments. 

All lesson payments are required before lesson commencement.  You can pay by either cash, cheque (with guarentee card) or via the Online Shop.
